چکیده
ABSTRACT The second EMBO-EMBL Symposium ‘Synthetic Morphogenesis: From Gene Circuits to Tissue Architecture’ was held virtually in March 2021, with participants from all over the world joining comfort of their sofas discuss synthetic morphogenesis at large. Leading scientists a range disciplines, including developmental biology, physics, chemistry and computer science, covered gamut topics principles cell tissue organization, patterning gene regulatory networks, approaches for exploring evolutionary biology principles. Here, we describe some high points.

Engineering Life through Synthetic Biology
Synthetic Biology is a field involving synthesis of novel biological systems which are not generally found in nature. It has brought a new paradigm in science as it has enabled scientists to create life from the scratch, hence helping better understand the principles of biology. The viability of living organisms that use unnatural molecules is also being explored. Unconventional projects such a...
متن کاملSynthetic Biology: Engineering Biological Systems
On June 26, 2000, President Bill Clinton and Prime Minister Tony Blair, along with Francis Collins, director of the Human Genome Project at the NIH, and Craig Venter, president of Celera Genomics, announced the arrival of the genomic era with the sequencing of the first draft sequence of the human genome. With this wealth of information, scientists and policy-makers alike were eager to welcome ...
متن کاملSynthetic Biology: A Systems Engineering Perspective
In this work, we provide a review from a systems engineering perspective of some of the design challenges found in bio-molecular systems. In particular, we focus on the problem of modularity. If components behave modularity, that is, their behavior does not change upon interconnection, then one can predict the behavior of a circuit directly by the behavior of the composing units. We show how th...
متن کاملRequirements Engineering Model in Designing Complex Systems
This research tends to development of the requirements elicitation methodology with regard to operational nature and hierarchical analysis for complex systems and also, regarding available technologies. This methodology applies Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) to ensure traceability of planned qualitative and quantitative data from requirements to available te...
متن کاملTitle: Engineering Synthetic Trans-splicing Ribozyme Systems
Natural intron-like self-splicing ribozymes have been re-engineered to trans-splice two arbitrary RNA pieces together. This capability has potential to be tremendously useful for the synthetic biologist. We propose analyzing the suitability of these ribozymes as a tool for engineering biology by adapting trans-splicing ribozymes for use in measuring, debugging, patching, and building biological...
